Damp & Mould Competence Programme — Housing Teams
Five courses · online · £2,295 individually → £1,849 per seat · save £446
Awaab’s Law puts damp and mould on a statutory clock. Meeting it depends on the people who see the property first recognising what they’re looking at, recording it properly, and escalating the right cases — and on the people who survey it afterwards being able to diagnose it to a certified standard.
This programme builds both. At its core is the Damp Surveyor Online Certification (FODCS) — City & Guilds Assured — teaching the FOD 7-Step Damp Survey Method, from moisture meter interpretation through to producing clear, evidence-based survey reports. Around it sit four specialisms. Ventilation, Condensation & Moisture Risk Management addresses the most common failure: condensation recorded as rising damp, or damp attributed to tenant lifestyle when ventilation was never adequate. Mould Assessment & Remediation, aligned with IICRC S520 and WHO guidance, covers assessing growth and specifying remediation that holds. Leak Detection gives teams a systematic method for tracing ingress rather than repeat visits that never find the source. Thermal Imaging Mastery adds visual evidence to inspection records, so a report shows what was found rather than only asserting it.
All five courses are self-paced and online, so teams train around existing workloads with no cover required. Every course carries lifetime access, which means new starters work through the same material and your standard holds as people move on. Staff who complete the FODCS certification are eligible to apply for Federation of Damp membership and a listing on the public register.
Who it’s for: surveyors, housing officers, repairs teams and contract managers in local authorities, housing associations and managing agents.
Delivery: per seat, invoiced together. Volume pricing on application. We also design bespoke programmes for larger organisations.
