Membership Agreement & Terms
Last updated: 20 September 2026
This agreement applies to Federation of Damp membership applications, approved memberships, renewals, company accounts and employee seats. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Code of Conduct & Ethics.
1. Who we are
Federation of Damp is a trading name of Certify Damp UK Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 16178536). Our registered address is Basepoint Cressex Enterprise Centre, Lincoln Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire HP12 3RL. Contact us at info@federationofdamp.co.uk or 0808 501 4090.
2. Membership is subject to approval
Membership is available to eligible individuals, companies, housing providers and other relevant professionals or organisations. An application, payment or course completion does not by itself create approved membership, vetting status, specialist accreditation or a directory listing.
We may request information or supporting evidence relevant to an application. We may approve, decline, suspend or end membership where reasonably necessary to protect customers, uphold Federation of Damp standards, prevent misrepresentation or address a breach of this agreement.
3. Membership levels, accounts and employee seats
The membership level, price, included features and renewal terms shown at checkout form part of this agreement. Individual membership is for the named member. A Company membership is held by the business and managed by its account owner.
- The company account owner may use the company account for their own professional activity; they do not need to buy an employee seat for themselves.
- Each additional employee or colleague who needs their own login, learning record, profile or member access requires an employee seat at the price shown at checkout, currently £49 per employee seat unless otherwise stated.
- The company account owner is responsible for keeping employee details accurate, removing access when a person leaves, and ensuring each user follows this agreement.
4. Membership benefits and directory eligibility
Members receive the benefits included with their chosen membership level, as described on the Membership page and in their account. Benefits may include member tools, learning records, guidance, member communications and access to applicable platform features.
Use of Federation of Damp branding, approval marks, specialist profiles, directory listings and customer lead features is available only where we have approved that access. Membership does not guarantee a directory listing, customer enquiries, work, a particular search position, insurance cover, a professional qualification or a certification outcome.
5. Member responsibilities
Members must provide accurate information, maintain appropriate qualifications, insurance and legal compliance for the services they offer, and keep account, business and directory details current. Members must:
- act honestly, professionally and in accordance with the Code of Conduct & Ethics;
- not misrepresent their membership, training, qualifications, approval, insurance or services;
- respond to customer enquiries and complaints professionally and promptly;
- keep customer, learner and account information secure; and
- not share accounts, employee seats, protected member resources or Federation of Damp branding with unauthorised people.
6. Branding, approval and directory information
You may use Federation of Damp branding or approval materials only in the form we provide and only while your relevant membership and approval remain active. You must stop using them immediately if membership or approval ends, is suspended or is removed. You must not use branding in a misleading way or imply an endorsement beyond the status we have granted.
We may amend, pause or remove directory information where it is inaccurate, outdated, misleading, unverified or inconsistent with our standards.
FODCS course achievement is separate from approved membership. Completing FODCS training or purchasing an additional City & Guilds Assured certificate does not grant approved FOD membership, a live specialist-register listing, or permission to use FOD approved-member badges or claim current FOD approval. These benefits require a separate successful membership application and the relevant membership and approval to remain active. Free registration is not approved membership.
A learner may accurately describe their completed training and present their genuine certificate as a record of achievement, subject to the issuer’s conditions. This must not imply current FOD membership, approval of their business, or City & Guilds endorsement of their professional services. City & Guilds names, logos and credentials remain subject to City & Guilds’ own rules.
7. Customer enquiries and leads
Where customer enquiries are sent through the Federation of Damp platform, the recipient remains independently responsible for deciding whether to accept the enquiry, communicating with the customer, providing any advice or quotation, and delivering any work. We do not guarantee the quantity, quality, outcome or commercial value of any enquiry.
8. Fees, renewal and cancellation
Membership fees, employee-seat fees and renewal terms are shown at checkout and in your Membership Billing area. Where you authorise a recurring payment, your membership may renew automatically at the applicable renewal price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
You can manage or cancel renewal through Membership Billing. Cancellation stops future renewal; unless we agree otherwise or the law requires otherwise, access remains available until the end of the period already paid for. Membership and employee-seat fees are not refundable for a change of mind or non-use, but this does not remove any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
We may suspend access for non-payment, failed payment, fraud, misuse or a material breach. We will normally give notice where appropriate and practicable.
9. Complaints, reviews and standards
We may investigate concerns or complaints about a member or their use of Federation of Damp services. We may ask for information, give the member a reasonable opportunity to respond and take proportionate action, including guidance, temporary suspension, removal of directory access or ending membership. A member may ask us to review a decision by writing to info@federationofdamp.co.uk.
10. Data protection
We process personal and business information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Members must ensure they have a lawful basis to provide us with employee or customer information and must comply with their own data-protection responsibilities.
11. Changes to this agreement
We may update this agreement where reasonably necessary, including to reflect changes to membership services, standards, legal requirements or platform features. For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify active members. Continued membership after the effective date of an updated agreement indicates acceptance of it.
12. Liability, law and contact
Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Subject to that, Federation of Damp is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of business, loss of profit or any contract formed between a member and their customer.
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. For questions or concerns, contact info@federationofdamp.co.uk.
By applying for, activating or renewing membership, you confirm that you have read and agree to this Membership Agreement & Terms.
