Company and Housing Provider accounts support individual employee places and training records. See employee prices and how places work. Confirm current terms and eligibility before paying.
Start with two employee places. Add more as you grow.
Company and Housing Provider memberships include two employee places. Each additional place costs £49 + VAT per year (£58.80 including VAT), paid by your organisation on top of its membership fee.
Add a place
Use your included places first. When they are allocated, the company administrator purchases another annual place from the team area.
The full annual price is charged when the extra place is purchased. It is not a monthly fee.
Invite the employee
Enter their own email address and send them their invitation. They join through their own account, linked to your organisation, and provide the details needed for FOD review.
Complete approval
Employee member access starts only after FOD approval and while their company place is supported. Each employee keeps their own learning, exam and certificate records.
What would it cost for your team?
2 employees: both places included.
3 employees: one extra place, £49 + VAT per year (£58.80 including VAT).
5 employees: three extra places, £147 + VAT per year (£176.40 including VAT).
These are employee-place costs in addition to the organisation’s annual membership. Course purchases, optional certificates and bespoke technical support are separate.
Who pays, and what happens at renewal?
Your organisation pays for additional employee places. Paid places renew annually unless renewal is stopped. The company administrator can manage place renewals in the team area; stopping renewal keeps a paid place available until its paid period ends, subject to the organisation maintaining its membership.
Can we remove an employee or invite a replacement?
The company administrator can end an employee’s sponsorship and free the place for another invitation. The employee’s account and learning records are retained. Ending sponsorship does not automatically cancel a paid place’s renewal; manage that separately if you no longer need the place. A replacement employee must complete FOD approval before member access begins.
Will every employee appear on our public profile?
Approved employees can appear on an eligible company profile with their headshot, approved roles and their own recorded FOD course completions. One employee’s qualification is not shared across the whole team. Housing Provider organisations and their sponsored employees are hidden from public specialist search by default.
Manage your team: approved Company and Housing Provider accounts can invite employees and purchase additional places from their team area. Talk to us about your team →

A more connected way to manage your work and team
Approved members can use the member toolkit to manage enquiries, organise work and create reports or quotations. Access depends on your membership type and approval status.
Reports, quotes and My Work
Bring records and supporting documents together, prepare quotations and combine a suitable report and quote into one PDF. Keep cost and profit estimates private.
Survey-only practices can use reports on their own. Independent reports remain separate from quotations.
A clearer view of enquiries
Search leads, record customer contact, add private notes and follow-up dates, and see personal notifications and new-lead email alerts.
For eligible public specialist listings. Enquiries and work are not guaranteed.
Employee accounts and training
Invite employees, view their learning records and purchase available training centrally. Show approved employees with headshots and their own recorded FOD course completions.
Two employee places with Company or Housing Provider membership. Extra places £49/year + VAT each (£58.80 including VAT). Access requires approval.

Membership and training are separate: tool access depends on your membership type and approval. Course places are purchased separately for each learner.
Apply, complete the review, get set up
Choose your account
Apply individually or as a company. Housing providers can speak with us about the route for their organisation.
Show your experience
Provide the qualifications, experience and supporting details requested. Recognised equivalent qualifications are considered through assessment.
Put your benefits to work
Following approval, complete your profile and use the benefits relevant to your membership. Public listing and branding require current approval and membership.
Recognition with a standard behind it
FOD membership supports a commitment to proper diagnosis, clear reporting and professional conduct. Membership is not a guarantee of every job or a substitute for an individual’s qualifications.
Your membership questions, answered
I only carry out surveys. Is membership for me?
Yes. You do not need to carry out damp-proofing works. Surveyors and consultants can benefit from reporting tools, saved records, professional recognition and eligible public listings without using quotations for remedial work.
Does Individual membership mean independent surveyor?
No. Individual is an account type for a professional joining in their own name. Independent surveying describes an inspection and advice service that does not sell remedial work. Your specialist roles should reflect the service and expertise FOD has approved.
What if we manage homes rather than sell services?
Housing associations, councils, landlords and property teams can contact us about organisational membership. The Housing Provider route uses Company pricing and team tools, with the organisation and sponsored employees hidden from public specialist search by default. Bespoke technical support is quoted separately.
Are courses and certificates included in the membership price?
Course fees and optional certificates are separate purchases unless an offer specifically states otherwise. Your member account helps you access learning and records. Membership itself does not award a course qualification.
Do I need FOD training before applying?
You can apply with relevant FOD certification or a recognised equivalent qualification, subject to assessment and the membership checks. If you are new to the industry or unsure of eligibility, speak with us before paying so we can help you choose an appropriate route.
Will membership guarantee enquiries or work?
No. Eligible approved profiles can help customers discover and check your services, but enquiry numbers and work are not guaranteed. Housing Provider accounts are intended for organisational use rather than public lead generation.
How do I manage payments or renew?
Open Membership & Billing from your account to see the available payment and renewal options. If you cannot see the option you need, contact the team on 0808 501 4090. Company-sponsored employees should speak to their organisation about their place.
Are the new toolkit and employee features available now?
Yes. Approved members can access the toolkit available to their membership type. Company and Housing Provider accounts also support employee places. Employees keep their own training records; course enrolments are purchased separately. Contact us if you need help choosing the right account.
